About us
our HISTORY it all started on 21 July 1992 when 86 members founded the Napkori Erdőgazdák Szövetkezete, which was a cooperative of forest owners in Napkor with the goal of uniting the forests they owned and managing them efficiently with the greatest professional knowledge. Nothing proves the success of this beginning better than the fact that within a few months we already had 600 members.
The establishment of the cooperative created a new path in the life of the village of Napkor, laying the foundations for private forest management and game farming.
In 2006 the cooperative was transformed into a joint-stock company and has been operating in this form ever since, keeping its well-deserved place in the top 30 list of private forest management firms and forestry service providers.
our MISSION was formulated very simply and can be summed up in just a few words, namely: "SUSTAINABILITY – AUTHENTICITY - PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT".
Our more than three decades of history prove that this is not just a slogan we just copy-pasted and claimed as our own. Here are a few milestones that we can be justly proud of:
1997
Since 1997, we have exercised the landowner's right to hunt in our territory. At the same time we expanded employment, and in 1998 we started doing new things. At that time we were one of the most modern game parks in Europe, covering 500 hectares, with another 350 hectares added in 2003. In addition to indoor big game farming, we also intensively rear quality game birds (specifically pheasants and mallards). All of this also required the creation of the conditions for hunting tourism.
2000
In 2000, we were the first in Hungary to introduce forestry management in private forest farming. This has been one of our most important activities ever since, and through it we provide support to many forest owners in the area, helping them to make the right decisions about their forest land.
2005
In 2005, we handed over the country's first private forestry themed open-air school, the Forestry Open-air School of Harangod (Harangodi Erdészeti Erdei Iskola), which is an environmental, forestry and hunting training centre and plays a prominent role in teaching an environmentally conscious approach to the youth of the region. Our certified Hungarian forestry open-air school has also been added to the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County depository.
2023
As a result of several decades of research and development with the Forestry Science Institute (ERTI), we have produced five varieties of Robinia that have exceptionally good properties. In the field of plant cultivation for energy purposes, we established a Robinia plantation (the only one in Hungary) under the guidance of Robinia researcher Dr. Imre Kapusi. But it is not only Robinia that we have achieved success in. As a result of the breeding work we did with ERTI, in 2023 one of our white willows received plant variety protection recognition under the name NAPERTI.
We do not want to brag but this list is not exhaustive. We believe that with our actions, we can present a successful, stable, sustainable company to all stakeholders. We not only work for the benefit of the company’s shareholders but also serve the public good and respect all the people that work for us.
